Rhinophyma is a condition of very marked overgrowth of the sebaceous glands of the nose. The Rhinophyma is one such condition in which the person's nose is in abnormal shape. This is not a common condition for all people.
Rhinophyma is a descriptive term derived from the Greek "rhis" meaning nose and "phyma" meaning growth. The people who are affected from Rhinophyma have the bulb shaped nose. Moreover, the abnormal nose is  common skin condition rosacea. It manifests as enlargement of the nose and bulbosity of the nasal tip with enlargement of pores.
Symptoms involve an abnormal appearance of the nose:

                              - Bulb-like (bulbous) shape

                              - Many oil glands

                              - May be reddish

                              - Thickening of the skin

Rhinophyma is a disease that typically afflicts white males between 40 and 60 years of age, although there have been a few patients who developed it in their 30s. It is far more common in men than women |

										| Will Insurance cover my surgery? |

If your requests are of a functional nature
(for example, you cannot breathe through your
nose), many insurance companies will cover the
part of the surgery that is required to correct
								these problems.

However, any requests that relate simply to
change of appearance are generally not covered
by insurance companies, and do require a
								cosmetic surgery fee. |
